Your Story Belongs in Your Local Paper
Elected officials pay close attention to what their constituents read. When a dialysis patient from their district appears in a local newspaper calling for action on the Restore Act, it lands differently than anything we can say from Washington.
That’s why we’re asking you to share your story in a letter to the editor. The Kidney Care Access Coalition will work to place your letter in a local news outlet in your community. You write it — we’ll help get it published.
This is about more than legislation. Every letter is a reminder that behind every vote is a real person — a neighbor, a parent, a spouse — whose life depends on the care that the Restore Protections for Dialysis Patients Act (S. 1173 & H.R. 2199) would protect.
HOW IT WORKS
-
You write a short, personal letter to the editor sharing what it’s like to depend on life-sustaining dialysis care — and why Congress must pass the Restore Act.
-
You submit it through this page. Our team reviews your letter and may follow up with light editing suggestions.
-
We work to place it in a local newspaper or news outlet in your area. Placing your story where your elected officials and their constituents will see it is how we build the pressure that moves Congress to act.
